Mr. Jesse Washmon

 Born in Denton, Jesse began playing guitar at age 8, studying primarily classical guitar. Jesse would begin studying Jazz with friend and mentor, Thad Bonduris at the age of 16. He would go on to study Classical and Jazz guitar at Texas Christian University (BA Music - Guitar) with Chip Christ and Tom Burchill (respectively). While at TCU, he performed with a number of jazz, classical, and vocal ensembles. After graduation, Jesse spent a year playing as a freelance musician around the D/FW metroplex with his jazz trio. In 2015, Jesse began his studies at the University of North Texas (M.M. Jazz Studies) with Fred Hamilton and Richard McClure. After graduating in 2017, Jesse worked as a freelance jazz and classical guitarist. He performed in musicals, an opera, as well with a chamber symphony, a local blues band, and in various jazz ensembles. As solo guitarist, he has performed in weddings, with a ballet company, as well as corporate and private events. In 2018, Jesse began working as an adjunct instructor at El Centro Community College. He worked there until 2020. During the time of the pandemic, Jesse shifted his focus to multimedia works, using videography, experimental keyboard techniques, and sound production. His work can be found on YouTube. Currently he is residing in Denton, TX, teaching full time and working on his music. He is very active and enjoys hiking, cycling, backpacking. He enjoys music in every way, and loves the ability to connect with others through it on a daily basis. Teaching music just as strong a passion for him, one that offers new challenges every day, as well as a community he is proud to better serve.
